TN: Dalits defy ban, enter temple
Dalits in a village in South Tamil Nadu have successfully fought a decade-long stigma. They stormed into Mariamman temple, where for decades, they had been kept out by upper castes in the village. Despite repeated protests, for more than ten years, upper castes prevented the entry of Dalits in the temple.
