According to rough estimates, India has 30,000 to 40,000 working ventilators, which experts say will be very inadequate in case there is a surge in coronavirus or COVID-19 infections. In nearly 5 per cent of cases worldwide, patients with acute breathing problems needed hospitalization in intensive care units (ICU).
