With Karnataka assembly election scheduled to be held next month, the ruling BJP held its central election committee meeting on Sunday, sources said; It was a show of strength for Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. Mr Shinde went to Ayodhya for the first time after being sworn in as chief minister of Maharashtra in June last year.
