Justice BV Nagarathna is in line to become the first female Chief Justice of India in 2027. Led by Chief Justice NV Ramana, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of nine judges for elevation; the United Arab Emirates today said that it is hosting former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani "on humanitarian grounds" after he fled from Afghanistan amid a Taliban takeover.
