One of the two men found positive for Omicron in Karnataka "escaped" after taking a Covid negative certificate from a private lab, the state government said today. The state is trying to track down 10 more people who reportedly went missing from the airport; South Africa is being hit by a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections driven by the Omicron variant which has been detected in seven of the country's nine provinces, Health Minister Joe Phaahla said; Cyclone Jawad is expected to hit parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts on Sunday morning.
