Delhi recorded its poorest post-Diwali air quality in five years on Friday with a deadly cocktail of noxious fumes from firecrackers and stubble burning in flagrant violation of Supreme Court guidelines. A thick smog caused a 10-car pile-up on the expressway; Aryan Khan case officer Sameer Wankhede has been removed from the Narcotics Control Bureau team that is probing the drug-on-cruise case. Mr Wankhede, who will still remain with the bureau, said he has told the court that the matter needs to be probed by a central agency; Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken back his resignation as Punjab Congress chief but issued a fresh ultimatum to his party. He said he will return to the office and take charge "when a new Advocate General is appointed" and other top stories.
