Trees cut at the Kolkata Botanic Garden
Division 9 of the 273-acre Botanic Garden in Howrah used to be a flower garden. In a bid to revive it, authorities have cut down eight trees and cleared eight others, which were uprooted in a storm. And they believe they were well within their rights to do so.
