A tribal woman from a humble background in Odisha has won the Miss India International Miss Photogenic title in Jakarta. This is the first such honour for the Korkutoua Desia community, most of whom haven't received formal education, and even without electricity. Santwana B Simran's family couldn't afford to fly her to Indonesia. But the local community helped her to take wings. Ms Simran wants to serve children, women and farmers. She has also set her eyes on Miss Femina India and Miss World. She would soon work with renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherji. NDTV caught up with her.
