The Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept the West Bengal panchayat elections, winning a majority in all three tiers of the rural local government. The BJP was a distant second though it did increase its vote share. But now a blame game has started over the violence that dominated the election. She also said the police have been given a free hand to take action on the violence.
