While the Congress has sealed seat-sharing deals with Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party, it has failed to arrive at a seat-sharing arrangement with the Trinamool Congress in Bengal. That many believed was set to change with the Congress bringing down is demand to five seats in Bengal with reports that sea-sharing talks had resumed after Mamata Banerjee's initial snub. However, Trinamool leader Derek O'Brien said, "A few weeks ago, the TMC Chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that TMC is fighting all the 42 seats in Bengal. We are also in the fray in a few seats in Assam and the Tura Lok Sabha seat in Meghalaya. There is no change in this position."
