At least 150 km southwards from Chennai, it's an exciting journey through the rocky terrain. Known as the Troy of the East, the Gingee fort is on top of the Rajagiri hill. It was a matter of prestige for any king to conquer the fort because it had a reputation that if you are inside Gingee fort and its walls surrounds you, no force or enemy can come near you.
