Truce called; matter closed, says Chidambaram on 2G note
In the first sign that a truce has been reached, senior ministers P Chidambaram and Pranab Mukherjee appeared together, surrounded by other senior ministers, as Mr Mukherjee read out a short statement. After which Mr Chidambaram stepped forward to endorse it. Mr Mukherjee detailed, "A number of stories on 2G spectrum appeared in media in January 2011... A group of officials prepared an inter-ministerial background paper sent to Prime Minister's Office."
