In today's episode of India Global, Donald Trump has signed an executive order initiating the process to end birthright citizenship. The new directive seeks to end automatic citizenship for children born in the U.S. Under the order, children born to parents on temporary visas whether for work, study, or tourism will no longer automatically be granted citizenship. This change, which is set to take effect in 30 days, specifically targets children of families living in the U.S. without legal permanent status. This includes families of H-1B visa holders, who are in the U.S. temporarily for work. NDTV's Gaurie Dwivedi speaks to Professor of Public Policy at the Rochester Institute of Technology David Cay Johnston to discuss this and more.
