Trump: TikTok Deal Still On The Table | OpenAI Sues Elon Musk For 'Harassment' | The World Report

President Donald Trump has said that a deal to spin off TikTok's U.S. operations is still possible... just days after the process was put on hold. Trump has extended ByteDance's deadline to divest TikTok's U.S. assets until June 19 or face a ban. The deal would create a new U.S.-based company with American investors in charge. But senators from both parties are pushing back, some say Trump has no legal authority to grant extensions, while others want guarantees that Chinese ties are completely severed. The Chinese government would also have to approve any divestment. In another development, OpenAI is now hitting back at Elon Musk in court, accusing him of harassment. The ChatGPT maker has filed a countersuit, alleging Musk has run a smear campaign on social media and through legal channels to hurt the company. Musk had earlier sued OpenAI over its transition to a for-profit model, saying it violated the group's founding mission. OpenAI said that the attacks are harming its $40 billion fundraising round and wants Musk barred from further interference. Watch The World Report for the latest updates.
