Twitter has decided to come down heavily on Twitter bots and fake accounts of people who may have been bought to lend their support. Twitter says the clean up is to get rid of redundant or abusing accounts. The move comes a day after Facebook-run WhatsApp decided to include a "message forwarded" symbol to tell people that they have received a mass message. Mass messages in India led to mob lynchings of people thought to be child lifters on the basis of false messages is a prime example of this.
