Type 5 Diabetes: New Disease Affecting Millions Worldwide

In today's episode of India Global, For decades, millions of young Indians were misdiagnosed, mistreated - or simply ignored. But now, there's a breakthrough. The International Diabetes Federation has officially recognised Type 5 Diabetes - a previously misunderstood form of the disease. It primarily affects lean and undernourished teens and young adults in low- and middle-income countries. Unlike the more common types, Type 5 is triggered by malnutrition, which severely hampers the body's ability to produce insulin.
