The government today disputed the data put out by the International Labour Organisation which said that employment scenario in India is grim, especially among youth. ILO, in its report, stated that youth form nearly 83% of the unemployed workforce in India. The study also showed that the number of educated youth among all jobless people has gone up from 54.2% to 65.7% in 2022. "This indicates that the problem of unemployment in India has become increasingly concentrated among the youth, especially the educated ones in urban areas," the report said.
