Jaipur is renowned both within India and abroad for its jewellery trade. Its jewellers are known for their intricate craftsmanship globally. Being key players in the jewellery industry of the country, the jewellers of Jaipur have strong opinions about their expectations from this year's upcoming union budget.

Many jewellers say, since a lot of their customers come from rural areas and purchase in cash, the budget should have provisions to allow cash transactions in their trade to up to 10 lakh rupees from the present 2 lakh rupees per day from a single person.
