The craftsmen of Bhedaghat in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh who have long been known for their marble sculpting, are hoping for measures to improve their financial and living conditions in the upcoming union budget. The craftsmen say, despite their immense skill, many of them struggle with low earnings, often only making only 300-400 rupees a day. These workers have called for government support in the form of affordable loans that could enable them to enhance their craft and, ultimately, their livelihoods.
