With the upcoming union budget slated to be presented on July 23, residents of Gaya in Bihar are demanding a Buddhist corridor connecting the Mahabodhi Temple and Vishnupad temple in the district. Locals say that the corridor will help create jobs and boost the tourism potential of the region. Dubbing the place a 'Mecca for Buddhists', people urge the government to ensure foreign tourists and pilgrims visiting Gaya get visa free entry to the country.
