Electronics and Information Technology Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said India will become the largest connected nation in a few years, and that brings two challenges - cybersecurity and data safety. "From 35 crore Indians online, we are now 85 crore online, and by 2025 it will reach 120 crore online, become the largest connected nation," the Union Minister said at NDTV G20 Conclave. He said two challenges will arise from this - one is cybersecurity, and the other is there are also bad actors who misuse data and create businesses out of it. "We need a global standard cyber law for it. One, to put the brakes on misuse of data. Second is more medium to long-term. We need significant symmetry addressing the asymmetry between the people and platforms," he said.
