UP Election 2017: Politics Of 'Parivartan'

Change is the promise. In the run up to the UP assembly elections, the BJP's Parivartan rally, the Samajwadi Party's Vikas Rath Yatra, the Congress's Kisan rally and the BSP's focus on law and order - all sell the idea of change. But closer to polling day they fall back on nepotism, horse trading, caste mobilization and communal polarization to capture power in Lucknow. The BJP, while guaranteeing clean governance in Uttar Pradesh, has distributed a record number of tickets to turncoats.
