The 'Laat Saheb' Holi in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Friday, amid tight security arrangements. Following an 18th-century tradition, the festivities begin with revellers playfully throwing footwear at a man impersonating 'Laat Saheb' — a British Lord—seated on a bullock cart. To ensure a smooth celebration, mosques along the procession route were covered with tarpaulins to prevent colour stains, and barricades were set up as a precautionary measure.
