UP Unveils Rs. 8.08 Lakh Crore Budget With Focus On Tech & Tourism
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced an Rs. 8.08 lakh crore Budget for 2025-26, prioritizing research, development, and Information Technology. Key allocations include 22% for development, 13% for education, and 11% for agriculture. The Budget also focuses on advancing AI, cyber security, and smart city initiatives. With the state's economy doubling since 2017 and per capita income on the rise, the government aims to sustain growth while ensuring fiscal stability. Additionally, the Budget places a strong emphasis on religious tourism, with Rs. 400 crore allocated for developing pilgrimage centers like Ayodhya, Mathura. Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented a Budget of Rs. 8,08,736.06 crore, calling it a "public welfare Budget" designed for the benefit of the people.
