On Wednesday, a U.S. military aircraft landed in Amritsar, India, carrying 104 deported Indian migrants. This marked the first such flight to India as part of the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration in the U.S. The deportees, mostly hailed from Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, approximately 725,000 unauthorized Indian immigrants were residing in the U.S. in 2022.
