Joshua Raymond, chief market strategist with CityIndex tells NDTV Profit that the notion that US policymakers will step in, to avert an unprecedented federal shutdown, thereby impacting hundreds of thousands of Americans, that notion on which risk is priced, is coming under threat after the U.S. government began a partial shutdown for the first time in 17 years, putting as many as 800,000 federal employees out of work today, closing national parks and halting some government services after Congress failed to break a partisan deadlock.
