US, UK Urge Hamas To Accept Israeli Truce Proposal For Ceasefire In Gaza
The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, has said that "the only thing standing between the people of Gaza and a ceasefire" is Hamas, ahead of what are seen as last-chance talks to salvage a diplomatic solution before the expected Israeli ground invasion in Rafah. The top US diplomat has urged Hamas to make the right decision quickly. The UK foreign secretary, David Cameron, too has said that Hamas should accept the deal for a sustained 40-day ceasefire.
