USHA Silai School is helping the survivors of rape and trafficking carve out their own destinies through stitching and sewing. Despite facing the odds, they have rebuilt their lives and have become a symbol of hope and courage. For rape survivors, fighting stigma in a closely-knit rural society is perhaps the greatest challenge but earning through USHA Silai Schools not only gives them an income and an occupation that is practical and easy to follow but it also gives them an outreach into a society. After becoming USHA Silai School teachers, they are guiding other women also to take charge of their own life and become financially independent.
