Uttar Pradesh: The Hunger Cover Up
A day after NDTV reported on how the drought in Uttar Pradesh had pushed those in Bundelkhand to acute hunger, forcing them to eat rotis made of grass, the UP government attempted a cover up. Local officials were sent there to get villagers to claim that these are their traditional foods, and that there is no hunger. On Left, Right and Centre, a member of UP's ruling party faces tough questions from the panel on why it is trying to brush a serious situation under the carpet.
