Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday met the affected families and inspected the extent of damages caused due to cracks at Joshimath town of the state's Chamoli district. He also assured affected families to compensate after a complete assessment. Mr Dhami met people across the ages, from old ones to children to have a first-hand account of their problems. "We'll try to make better arrangements here after assessing the damages. Now, we'll provide financial aid of Rs 1.5 lakhs to people here for temporary relief. Don't spread false rumors about the situation here. Central and state governments will stand by the people of Joshimath," said Pushkar Dhami. "In the long run, we will try to compensate people on basis of the provisions. We have after a complete assessment of the extent of the damages caused in Joshimath," he added.
