Vaccine shortage hampers immunisation
The Health Ministry has shut down all three government facilities that produce bulk of six crucial vaccines including DPT, BCG and measles for infants. This results in a possible shortage of essential vaccines in India. Every year, over 25 million children are born in India and in the first nine months, an infant needs to be given these vaccines.
