"Very Happy...": Randeep Hooda On Being Honoured With Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar Award
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda received the Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar Award on May 26 in Mumbai. Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar conferred the actor with the prestigious award. Earlier this year, Randeep Hooda played the character of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar.
Post receiving the award, Randeep Hooda said, "I am very happy to get this recognition from people who know about Swatantra Veer Savarkar. This award is the validation that what I have shown in the movie is right...On his birthday, I will go to Port Blair. There will be a screening of the picture and I will visit the jail where he was kept".
