As part of the celebrations of 50 years of India's triumph over Pakistan in the 1971 war, the victory flame was installed with tremendous fervour in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, on September 15. The victory flame was installed at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium for the final ceremony of Swarnim Vijay Varsh. The event started with patriotic songs in the background when the victory flame was received by Lt General P N Ananthanarayanan, GOC, Rising Star Corps, and installed in the centre of the cricket stadium to mark a tribute for the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers. A cultural programme was organised on the occasion. From group songs to Bhangra and Nati dance by NCC Cadets to Gatka performance by the Indian Army jawans, the celebrations were held with patriotic fervour. (Video credit: ANI)
