Kolkata and Kochi have tied a curious knot. A woman from Bengal's capital was on a holiday in a houseboat in the backwaters of Kerala, when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Republic Day. She was rushed to hospital at Kochi, put into ICU but on February 9, she was declared brain dead. The family did what they believe 55-year-old Kajori Bose would have wanted. They donated her all her organs. Only her kidneys could be harvested and two people now owe their lives to her.
