Vijaya Bank has reported a rise in net profit in its fourth quarter earnings with the net at Rs 224 crore. The midcap public-sector bank’s net income has seen a healthy growth to Rs 517 crore and also there is sterling improvement in the gross NPAs, which have dropped to 2.17 per cent. HS Upendra Kamath, chairman and managing director of Vijaya Bank, tells NDTV Profit that the profit boost has come from a healthy jump in the other income. He indicates that the bank expects higher other income in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. He also says the Q4 loan book has seen a Rs 5,000 crore growth.
