In September, world leaders will gather at the UN to discuss new sustainable development goals. For the first time, gender equality will be one of those standalone goals. Gender-based violence is a key component of discussions on gender equality. This violence is experienced by women around the world. It cuts across economic status, educational levels and has, in a sad way, become a unifying factor. How do we tackle this? How do we actually address gender based violence? Joining the discussion are National Women’s Commission chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Delhi Women's Commission chief Swati Maliwal, Maxwell Pereira, former Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police, Mandy Moore a well-known American actress, song writer and also now a global health advocate and Indrani Goradia, who runs a well-known organisation dealing with gender based violence.
