Votenama 2014: Battle for Maharashtra Pride and Prejudice
Home Ministry figures for 2013 show that 88 incidents of communal violence were reported from Maharashtra, the second highest after Uttar Pradesh. This year, between April and June alone, there were 26 clashes in the state. However, no political party has flexed its muscle to stop the growing intolerance between religious groups, with less than two weeks to go for the state Assembly elections.
