Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister VP Singh at Presidency College in Chennai, calling it the state's token of gratitude for implementing the Mandal Commission report and giving 27% reservation to OBCs in government jobs. While MK Stalin is reviving the Mandal card ahead of 2024 polls amid demands for caste-wise census, Akhilesh Yadav was the chief guest. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to VP Singh's wife Sita Kumari and son Ajeya Pratap Singh who said reservation is still relevant in India and that VP Singh is "under-celebrated" as a PM.
