In this episode, Nationalist Congress chief Sharad Pawar touches upon serious issue of cancer caused due to tobacco. He admits that he was a tobacco addict - a habit which he picked up during his young days as a politician when he went visiting his constituency. After many years it was found out that he had oral cancer and the doctor told him that he had about 6 months left. But because of his strong will power and 3 mouth operations in New York he is today free of cancer. But he has lost his speaking abilities and clarity of his voice due to the disease that has hampered his public life a lot. Mr Pawar says that he finds it shocking that some politicians says that smoking or eating tobacco does not cause cancer. He is open about his life and tells everyone not to eat tobacco. Mr Pawar says that he has in fact told many of his party workers who are in the beedi business to give up and look for alternate options.
