Former Congress leader Ravneet Singh Bittu, who contested from Ludhiana on a BJP ticket in the recently concluded elections and lost, has been offered a post in PM Modi's new cabinet. Speaking about joining the government, Mr Bittu said. "I was not only hopeful but I was 100% confident that I would get a call (to join PM Modi's cabinet). Had I remained with Congress, I would have won Ludhiana. But What could I do for Punjab by sitting in the Opposition? Raise black flags and sloganeer? What could I do for Ludhiana? Nothing. But now in the BJP, even without a minister's post, I can work for the people of Ludhiana. It is not important that I become a minister but the priority is Punjab." Listen in.
