As an uneasy calm prevails in Assam, after targeted killings that leave over 30 people dead, ugly politics breaks out, with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi now also blaming Narendra Modi for instigating the violence. But what about the responsibility of Mr. Gogoi's own government? Is Mr Modi really to blame for what happened in Assam? Or does the Congress need to own up for it's own failures? BJP leader Amit Shah, in charge of the party's campaign in Uttar Pradesh, told NDTV that the party has a lot of support in the Hindi heartland. On Narendra Modi, Mr Shah said, "He focuses on working hard for the benefit of the country. Gujarat is a result of that. He always welcomes new and innovative ideas and tries to imbibe them."
