Several opposition leaders have come out in support of farmers who are camping in and around Delhi in protest demanding the centre withdraw farm laws that are against their interests. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with protesters, while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was stopped from joining protesters. "Covid restrictions only apply to opposition leaders, not BJP people. BJP is holding big events, but when it comes to farmer protests, they say there are safety rules," Mr Akhilesh said. The government says minimum support price or MSP won't be affected. However, farmers are citing several points in the new laws to point out that companies will have ample chance to take advantage and even give unfair prices.
