Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama will hold formal talks today, their second meeting after the private dinner, in a trip which now shifts focus from high-impact optics to questions over what substantive takeaways the two leaders can agree on. One of PM Modi's most keenly watched interactions will be at the US-India Business Council where he will have to convince the business community to look at India anew. Speaking to NDTV in New York, chairman of the Mahindra group Anand Mahindra said the PM's US trip was not about micro business agreements, but about the debut of PM Modi on the global stage. Describing the PM as a sponge who absorbs the best from all, Mr Mahindra said the frenzied response Mr Modi had received was explained by the craving among Indians for a strong leadership.
