The festival of colours, Holi, will be celebrated on March 14. However, there are several unique celebrations that lead up to the day - starting with 'Laddoo maar Holi' and 'Lathmar Holi' in Barsana, believed to be the birthplace of Radha. Devotees celebrate 'Phoolon ki Holi' in Mathura. Then there is 'Masaan ki Holi' where pyre ash is smeared. Holi has a special place in the Braj region that includes Mathura and Vrindavan, both associated closely with the legend of Lord Krishna.
