'We are human': Sex workers enact life on stage
A group of sex workers in Sangli in western Maharashtra have decided to tell their own story through a play and this isn't just an act. Twenty-two of them have come together to put up a play called My mother, the gharwali, her maalak, his wife. The play looks at people who pass the lanes of the town's sex industry, through the eyes of a young sex worker.
