We Cannot Lower Our Guard Ever With This Virus: Dr VK Paul On Lessons Learnt From COVID-19 Waves
Dr VK Paul, Head, Nutrition, Health & HRD, NITI Aayog said that the lessons learnt from the previous waves of COVID-19 remain important both at individual level and at systemic level. It remains an important individual responsibility to mask up, maintain physical distance, not crowd around, to protect not just themselves but also people around them and the society at large from getting infected. At system level, Dr Paul said that emphasis needs to be on optimum testing, contract tracing, containment zones to contain the virus and its spread and then being completely ready to look after patients once they get sick in terms of care, oxygen, treatment and manpower to administer that care.
