We The People: Will Name-Change Spree Help BJP In 2019?
After UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently renamed Faizabad to Ayodhya and Allahabad to Prayagraj, the renaming streak of the BJP has dominated the national discourse. This name change spree is not new to India, it is happening since the very first year of independence starting with 'Cawnpore' to 'Kanpur', it has been said that these names are what these cities actually represents. But aren't these political parties moving away from the true origin or are they creating their own version of history? Is it another religious war or some election strategy?
