Well short of a majority and not even the single largest party in Goa, the BJP has played its biggest card - Manohar Parrikar. The party's new legislators met this morning and decided that they want Mr Parrikar, currently at the centre as Defence Minister, to lead them. The proposal has been sent to the Delhi leadership. Today, Union minister Nitin Gadkari is expected to meet the legislators. For Mr Parrikar to become CM, he will be required to resign as the country's defence minister. If sworn in, he will have to contest in the state election and a sitting BJP legislator will have to resign for him to vacate a constituency.
