Prominent transgender activist Akkai Padmashali, one of the petitioners in the same-sex marriage case, welcomed the Supreme Court verdict claiming that India discussing this issue is in itself a step forward. This propels her to take the fight forward so that people like her can enjoy social benefits like the rest, she said.
