West Bengal DGP sentenced for six months

In an unprecedented snub to the West Bengal government, the Calcutta High Court on Friday, sentenced its Director General of Police to jail for six months for contempt of court. The court had ordered AB Vohra to remove protestors camping outside the Jalpaiguri court to press their demand for a circuit bench in the district. But neither he nor the district authorities allegedly took any steps.
